This unconventional program is ideal for beginners who want to learn at their own rate and in their own way. There is a strong emphasis on the important fundamentals shared by all dances. Learning dancing as an activity that is total, rather than confined to heads and feet. Much care is taken to protect students from developing bad habits. As students grow in skill, they return, assisting beginners, while perfecting their own skills. This method is the natural, traditional method of learning social dancing as an integral part of life. It is both efficient and pleasurable, since class time is not work, but play.

Dancing is the loftiest, most moving, the most beautiful of the arts, because it is no mere translation or abstraction from life; it is life itself!" -- Havelock Ellis: The Dance of Life

"A good education consists in knowing how to sing and dance well". -- Plato

Here is a press release for experienced Lindy Hoppers.

What to wear? Dress lightly Bring shoes that have good support, are light and don't grip the floor. Platform shoes or very high heels are not suitable. Wear light, loose clothing that you don't mind getting hot in. Dress first for comfort, then for looks. Jeans are uncomfortable when hot. Skirts and dresses are great for dancing, as they give you comfort and freedom of motion. But skirts that are tight or long and heavy are not so good. Clothes that feel good when dancing will make your dancing easier, more fun, and better. Feel free to dress casual, or to wear your finest Swing Dance outfit.
